Colorado’s East West rolling out 4-week

Sabbatical Leave program to long-term employees

Vail, CO. (April 3, 2018) – Colorado’s East West family of companieswhich includes East West Hospitality, East West Partners, Slifer Smith & Frampton Real Estate, Eye Pieces and Resort Deliveryis excited to be rolling out a Sabbatical Leave Program open to all full-time employees who have been with the company for at least 10 years.

Open to both hourly and salaried employees, the Sabbatical Program features four continuous weeks of Paid Sabbatical Leave, in additional to the employee’s current paid vacation time.

East West currently has more than 1,300 employees nationwide; more than 125 employees are currently eligible for this program.

“We believe this program will allow our team members to thrive in both their personal and professional lives,” said Harry Frampton, Chairman and Founding Partner at East West.  “We want our employees to take time to do what feeds their soul – whether that’s spending time with their families, taking that long-awaited excursion, volunteering in the community or learning a new skill. This time is meant to be spent on their personal well-being and achieving personal goals so they return rejuvenated, refreshed and re-energized.”

Employees will be eligible for another Sabbatical seven year after their previous Sabbatical ends.

In 2017, East West raised its starting minimum wage to $15 per hour for all hourly employees in most markets, well in excess of Colorado’s current minimum wage of $10.20 per hour.

“We believe in treating our employees as our most important asset and that this Sabbatical program, combined with our generous benefits programs and recent minimum wage adjustment, round out our intention to deliver on that promise,” said Frampton.

East West Hospitality named “Business of the Year” by the Vail Valley Partnership

Avon, Colorado (May 16, 2018)East West Hospitality is pleased to announce that it has been named the 2017 “Business of the Year” by the Vail Valley Partnership at the recent Success Awards.

This 15th annual event recognizes Eagle County businesses that have excelled over the past year and acknowledges their hard work and dedication as the best in the Vail Valley.

Major EWH initiatives for 2017 included:

East West Destination Hospitality is pleased to announce that Tom Puntel is now serving as the Vice President of Sales & Marketing at the growing company, which manages more than $2.5 billion in vacation rental assets at mountain resorts in Colorado and California.

A seasoned hospitality sales executive with more than 25 years of experience, Puntel spent the last 13 years with Hyatt Hotels, most recently serving as the Director of Sales, Marketing & Events at the Park Hyatt Beaver Creek. Puntel also held property level and regional level sales leadership roles with Starwood Hotels & Resorts and the Intercontinental Group in both Denver and Chicago.

East West Destination Hospitality hires Kris McKinnon to serve as Director of Sales for Vail & Beaver Creek

East West Destination Hospitality is pleased to announce that it has hired Kris McKinnon to serve as the Director of Sales for its Vail Mountain Lodging and Beaver Creek Mountain Lodging divisions.

A veteran sales executive with more than 20 years of mountain travel industry experience, McKinnon joins East West Destination Hospitality after spending more than a decade at SKI.com, where she most recently served as the Vice President of Sales and Business Development. A graduate of Colorado Mountain College, she spent nearly 10 years as a ski instructor & manager for Aspen Skiing Company before moving into sales, where she rose to the position of Managing Director of Worldwide Sales. McKinnon is the most recent Past President of the Board of Directors for SkiTops, the official Ski Tour Operators Association.

East West Destination Hospitality promotes John Patterson to Regional Engineering Director

East West Destination Hospitality is pleased to announce that John (JP) Patterson has been promoted to the position of Regional Engineering Director overseeing The Westin Riverfront Resort & Spa at Beaver Creek Mountain as well as Snowmass Hospitality and managed Associations.

Patterson joined the East West team in 2015 as the Director of Engineering at The Westin Riverfront. He previously spent more than 20 years with the Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company, including more than nine years as the Corporate Director of Projects. He also spent nearly five years in Engineering Management for Hyatt Hotels.

“The Westin Riverfront and the associations managed by Snowmass Hospitality involve very complex systems, so we are fortune to have someone of JP’s caliber overseeing both teams,” said East West Destination Hospitality Managing Partner Colleen Weiss-Hanen. “JP is very well respected and has demonstrated the ability to manage complicated systems while overseeing a strong engineering team.”

Last month, East West Partners, KSL Capital Partners, LLC and Aspen Skiing Company finalized the purchase to complete Colorado’s Snowmass Base Village project. The joint venture includes all commercial spaces in the Base Village, the Snowmass Hospitality property management company and the Viceroy Hotel, as well as all remaining development parcels. Construction in the Snowmass Base Village is expected to begin this spring.
